Full Job Description

Posting Date 10/13/2022 Closing Date 11/04/2022 Position Purpose

This highly skilled position creates and produces digital and print material to promote the UCM University Store’s image and develops and maintains graphics and content on the Bookstore website and social media sites.

Experience
Desktop publishing and/or graphic design experience required using Creative Suite
Web experience preferred.
Understanding of marketing and promotion preferred.
Photography experience preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
Publication Design – Conceptualize, write, edit and design promotional materials including brochures, print & digital advertising, direct mail, banners, website, etc.
Design Software Knowledge – High skill-level required in the following graphic design industry software:
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe CreativeSuite.
Office Software Knowledge – Experience preferred in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Hardware – Macintosh platform preferred.
Image Design – Conceptualize and design promotional images including logos, graphic identifiers, etc.
Web graphics – Assist with creating and editing photos and graphics for ucmbookstore.com.
Web edits – Prepare and/or complete text edits for the web.
Social media – Assist with conceptualizing, creating, scheduling and posting content to official UCM University Store’s social media sites.
Photo Shoots – Assist with scheduling and coordinating.
Photography – Photograph products, events, people, and campus.

Interpersonal Skills
Excellent problem solving/analytical skills
Strong organization, customer service and written/oral communication skills.
Strong time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Self motivation a must.

  • Clerical/office assistance – assist with filing as necessary.

Required: sophomore or higher, majoring in Graphic Design.
Desired number of hours per week is
15 – 20, but may vary.
Summer work is a must.

Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent, Credit Hours (Specify hours below) Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Other – Adobe CreativeSuite, Photoshop, Illustrator Experience

Sophomore or higher
